Required Musical ability
Whilst the pieces that the band play demand a standard of anything from Associate Boards Grade 5 to 8 and therefore need a reasonable musical ability, we do not require members to have attained any grades or equivalent for their instruments.

Commitment
As with any successful team, we ask that our members regularly attend the rehearsals and play at the performances which they are signed up for.

Instruments
All members supply their own instruments except in exceptional circumstances (e.g. our percussion kits)

Uniform
We have a uniform- a waistcoat and bow-tie - which is supplied by the band and a black fleece that is supplied, at a cost, to members for outside performances.

Subscriptions
Every ten weeks the Band Treasurer collects £10 membership – so £1 a week.
Prospective members can attend their first rehearsal free!

We are currently looking for individuals who can play:

Trumpet

French Horn

Tuba (Bass Clef, Concert pitch)

Director of Music required from December 2012

Drummer must be able to read drum music and work under the direction of a conductor(the band has its own drum equipment)
